IOLA – Jared Boyle shot an 84 and Sam Stassen fired an 86 to lead the Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys golf team to a second-place finish at the WIAA Division 3 Boys Golf Regional on Tuesday at Glacier Wood Golf Course.
The second-place finish pushes the Dons into next Tuesday’s Division 3 sectional meet at Pine Valley Golf Course in Marathon.
Boyle finished fourth overall, five shots off the lead set by Jesse Peterson of Amherst and Chris O’Sullivan of team regional champion Stevens Point Pacelli. Jozef Wojciehowski of Pacelli was third with an 82.
Ben Reigel shot an 89 and Jordan Derfus had a 90 to round out the scoring for Columbus, which had a team total of 349 and finished 14 shots behind Pacelli.
Wisconsin Rapids Assumption (363) was third and Wausau Newman Catholic (367) was fourth.
