MARSHFIELD – Marshfield’s No. 3 doubles team of Jack Haessly and John Weiss finished second at the WIAA Division 1 Boys Tennis Sectional on Thursday at Boson Courts at Marshfield High School.
Haessly and Weiss won their first match before losing to T.J. Jungbluth and Alex Rentzepis of Eau Claire Memorial in the No. 3 doubles final. Match scores were not provided.
Marshfield finishes with eight points in the sectional competition, which was won by Memorial. Memorial moves on to the WIAA State Team Boys Tennis Tournament in Madison on June 10-11.
The top two No. 1 singles players and doubles teams, and the top No. 2 singles players and doubles teams from the sectional move on to the WIAA State Individual Boys Tennis Tournament in Madison on June 2-4.
Eau Claire Memorial won all seven flights at the sectional.
