EDGAR – Justin Sinz scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Edgar to a 51-38 nonconference win over Spencer in boys basketball action Monday at Edgar High School.
The Purdue University football recruit dominated the Rockets, making 11 of 12 shots from the floor, including both of the 3-pointers he attempted. In all, Edgar shot 56 percent from the field (19 of 34).
Bryan Brodziski scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds, and Tyler Kolstad and Ben Bonitz each scored seven points for the Rockets, who shot just 32.6 percent (14-for-43) from the floor.
Spencer trailed 23-19 at halftime but couldn’t mount a comeback, falling to 12-4 on the season.
Edgar only made 9 of 21 free throws, but Spencer couldn’t take advantage, making just 6 of 14 and missing 10 of 14 3-point attempts.
The Rockets play another nonconference game Tuesday at Rib Lake, then host Loyal in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday.
