Columbus Catholic’s Claire Pinter takes third at Cloverbelt Conference Cross Country Meet

NEILLSVILLE – Marshfield Columbus Catholic senior Claire Pinter earned all-conference honors by placing third in the girls race Friday at the Cloverbelt Conference Cross Country Meet at Levis Mounds.

Pinter ran in 16:56.8 finishing 16.3 seconds behind winner Megan Hanson of Fall Creek (16:39.1) and 13.6 seconds in back of Sydney Alexander of Eau Claire Regis (16:42.4).

Riley Roehl was 26th in 18:29.2 and Rachel Albrecht was 27th in 18:32.3 to help the Dons to a fourth-place finish in the team standings.

Colby/Abbotsford had four finishers in the top 12, led by Casey Sprotte, who was fourth, to win the team title. Stanley-Boyd was second.

Spencer ended up ninth, led by freshmen Paige Lawrence and Samantha Fuehrer. Lawrence was 29th in 18:42.3 and Fuehrer was 3.3 seconds behind to take 30th.

Marshfield Columbus Catholic took sixth and Spencer was 12th in the boys team standings.

Jeremy Binder led the Dons’ boys, taking 11th in 18:23.3. Sam Studinger finished 33rd in 19:26.4.

Danny Schubert (19:27.5) was 34th and Donovan Fox took 37th (19:33.9) to lead the Spencer boys.

Eau Claire Regis on the boys team title, with Augusta taking second.

Andrew Kaiser of Colby/Abbotsford won the boys race in 17:14.7, three seconds in front of Nick Zander of Chippewa Falls McDonell.
