AUBURNDALE – Auburndale needed every bit of energy Thursday to knock off pesky Stanley-Boyd in a WIAA Division 3 volleyball regional semifinal.
The Apaches won 29-27, 25-15, 30-28 to move on to a regional final Saturday at Spencer. Auburndale defeated Spencer last year in the regional semifinals on its way to the WIAA state tournament.
Hannah Castellano led a stout Auburndale defense with 22 digs. Kari Willfahrt added 17 digs and a team-high 11 kills, Nicole Nikolay had 11 digs and nine kills and Kendra Kundinger had 29 assists and 15 digs.
