Marshfield wrestling team drops Wisconsin Valley Conference opener at Wausau West

WAUSAU – The Marshfield wrestling team had just three wins and dropped its Wisconsin Valley Conference opener to Wausau West 49-12 on Thursday night at West High School.

Brandon Baltus earned a 10-4 decision at 152 pounds, Austin Mahoney had a pin at 160 and Justin Sternweis ousted Jackson Beck with a 3-1 decision at 192 pounds for the Tigers.

West won one match by forfeit and four others by pin in the victory.

The Tigers will compete at the Neenah Invitational on Saturday.
