PITTSVILLE – Clint Moschinski won the 152-pound title for Auburndale’s lone championship at the WIAA Division 3 wrestling regional at Pittsville High School on Saturday.
Moschinski defeated Dominique Lehman of Edgar 8-7 in double overtime to take the 152-pound title.
Auburndale finished second in the team points standings with 157.5. Edgar dominated the meet, scoring 280 points and had seven individual champions.
The Apaches had two other sectional qualifiers – Cody Kundinger finished second at 119 and Dave Altmann was second at 285 pounds.
Kundinger was pinned by Jake Frane of Edgar in the 119-pound match, then beat Tyler Beckman of Pittsville by technical fall 17-1 in a second-place wrestleback to grab a spot in next Saturday’s sectional at Shawano.
Altmann also lost in the finals, falling 3-2 to Kyle Krohn of Pittsville. Altmann recovered to pin Ryan Riechenbach of Edgar in 1:40 in a second-place wrestleback.
