Marshfield boys basketball team beats Chippewa Falls for third-straight win

EAU CLAIRE – The Marshfield boys basketball team won its third straight game and completed a 2-0 sweep in the Big Rivers/Wisconsin Valley Challenge with a 74-61 victory over Chippewa Falls on Thursday afternoon at Eau Claire North High School.

Marshfield pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring the Cardinals 19-9 to take a 35-23 halftime lead. The Tigers upped the lead to 55-37 by the end of the third quarter.

Elliot Ashbeck scored 19 points, Luke Zuiker added 16 and Ben Satter had 11 for the Tigers, who improve to 5-2.

Marshfield held a 17-6 advantage from the free throw line.

Marshfield hosts D.C. Everest on Jan. 6 for a Wisconsin Valley Conference game.
