Spencer girls basketball team loses nonconference game at Edgar

EDGAR – Holly Denfeld scored 19 points and hauled down 13 rebounds as Edgar toppled Spencer 54-34 in a nonconference girls basketball game Monday night at Edgar High School.

Jena Heidmann added 16 points for the Wildcats (6-4), who outscored Spencer (8-3) 14-7 in the first quarter and 17-5 in the fourth to pull away.

Spencer made just 11 of 39 shots from the field and 9 of 18 free throws in the loss.

Krystal Weier scored 13 points for the Rockets. Spencer hosts first-place Neillsville on Thursday in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game.
