PARK FALLS – Edgar won six individual championships and captured its seventh straight Marawood Conference Wrestling Tournament title on Saturday at Chequamegon High School.
The Wildcats scored 223.5 points, outlasting Stratford (181) and Pittsville (159.5) for the championship.
Devin Lemanski (113 pounds), Brandon Manecke (126), Connor Handrick (138), Kody Guden (145), Matt Nowak (160) and Luke Nowak (170) won individual titles for Edgar.
Stratford went 2-3 in championship matches.
Dondrick Tackes defeated Jacob Reimer of Athens 9-4 in the 182-pound championship match and Caleb Bryant took the 220-pound title match with a pin of Zachary Lemmer of Athens in 2:45 for the Tigers’ two individual championships.
Kellen Bornbach (160), Derek Dehlinger (170) and Andrew Murdaugh (285) all were pinned in their championship matches to finish second for Stratford.
Alex Heiden (120) took third and Hunter Brandt (113) Phil Sersch (126) and John Goode (195) finished fourth for Stratford.
Auburndale 132-pounder Wyatt Weiler was the only Apache to reach the finals and he lost a 12-6 decision to Rob Grigsby of Phillips in the 132-pound title match.
Auburndale’s Trevin Oertel won the 170-pound third-place match with a pin in 43 seconds over Brennan Sedivy of Marathon. Paul Willfahrt (120), Robert Wiskerchen (145) and Justin Lewis (152) finished fourth for the Apaches.
