PITTSVILLE – Auburndale senior Danica Harrison won the 1,600 and 3,200 meters as the Apaches girls placed fourth at the Pittsville Track Invitational on Friday at Pittsville High School.
Harrison won the 1,600 in 5:35.73 and the 3,200 in 11:51.89 for two of Auburndale’s four first-place finishes.
Lakisha Sutton won the long jump (15-11) and Emma Steines took first in the triple jump (31-11) for the Apaches, who finished with 83.5 points to take fourth.
Stratford was sixth with 62 points behind a pair of second-place finishers. Danielle Leffel took second behind Harrison in the 1,600 (5:54.11) and Abby Bender was second in the high jump (4-10) for the Tigers.
The Stratford boys had a pair of relay teams finish first and took fourth overall as a team. Auburndale was seventh.
The relay team of Dylan Kell, Kellen Bornbach, Eli Temanson and Jake Guyer won the 400 relay in 45.35 seconds and the 800 relay in 1:35.83. Kell also took first in the 100 (11.76).
Stratford’s Jacob Zuelke earned second in both the 1,600 (4:45.11) and 3,200 (10:47.19), finishing behind Marathon’s Andrew Studinski in both races.
Auburndale’s top finish came from Tom Sabel in the 200 (24.71).
Marathon won both team titles.
