STEVENS POINT – Myranda Schmitt finished 10th in the vault for Marshfield’s lone top-10 finish on Saturday at the Wisconsin Valley Conference Gymnastics Meet at Stevens Point Area Senior High.
Schmitt had a score of 8.6 in the vault for the 10th-place finish. Schmitt, a senior, also had some of the Tigers’ other top finishes. She finished 17th in the balance beam (7.15), 15th in the floor (7.875) and 20th in the uneven bars (7.125). Schmitt finished 12th in the all-around.
Marshfield’s Katie Golden had the Tigers’ top performance in the uneven bars, where she was 18th with a score of 7.35.
Kami Oppman was 13th in the all-around for Marshfield, leading the team in the floor exercise with a score of 7.925, good enough for 14th place. Oppman also was 17th in the vault (8.1).
Antigo edged Stevens Point 137.425-137.325 for the team title. Marshfield was fifth with a score of 117.8.
Megan Courtney of Stevens Point won the all-around title with a score of 36.15.
Marshfield will compete in the WIAA Division 1 sectional at Rice Lake on Saturday, Feb. 27.
