Columbus Catholic baseball beats Augusta in 8 innings

MARSHFIELD – Jeremy Binder went 3-for-3 and Pat Sullivan and Mike Iwanski each had two hits to lead the Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team to a come-from-behind 5-4 win over Augusta in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday at Jack Hackman Field.

The Dons trailed 3-1 after five innings and 4-2 after 6½ innings before scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game and another in the eighth to win it.

Iwanski earned the win in relief – his second out of the bullpen this week – as the Dons improve to 7-11 overall and 7-9 in the Cloverbelt East. Augusta drops to 6-12 and 6-10 in the conference.

Columbus hosts Granton on Friday at 5 p.m.
