Marshfield girls golf edges Stevens Point for second at third leg of CVGL tournament

OSSEO – The Marshfield girls golf team placed second Thursday at the third leg of the CloverValley Golf League to move into second place in the team standings.

The Tigers edged Stevens Point by one shot, 197-198, and placed second behind Osseo-Fairchild, which won its third straight CVGL tournament with a 164.

Osseo-Fairchild took the top four spots in the meet, with Danielle Langner leading the way with a 39.

Macy Fitzgerald tied for fifth with a 46 and Molly Field tied for seventh with a 47 to lead Marshfield.

Anna Jensen added a 51 and Janelle Skaden had a 53 to round out the Tigers’ scoring.

The next two legs of the conference tournament are slated for Tuesday at Stevens Point Country Club and next Thursday at Eau Claire Regis at Eau Claire Country Club.
