Late goal by Stratman lifts Columbus Catholic soccer past Wisconsin Valley Lutheran

MARSHFIELD – Hannah Stratman scored on a rebound of her own shot late in the game to lift the Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team to a 3-2 win over Wisconsin Valley Lutheran on Monday at Griese Park.

The win pushes the Dons’ record to 2-7 overall and 2-3 in the Mid-State Conference.

The Dons raced out to a 2-0 lead with goals by Grant Cleveland and Jared Fleischmann, on assists from Stratman and Cleveland, in the first half.

Wisconsin Valley Lutheran rallied to tie the game on a goal by Caleb Danner in the first half and another on a penalty kick early in the second half to make it 2-2.

The Dons host Mauston in a nonconference game on Thursday at 5 p.m.
