MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield cross country team held its first-ever high school meet at Braem Park against Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday.

Four grade-level races were held on the 2-mile course – all won by Marshfield runners. No team scores were kept.

Freshman Morgan Redetzke won the 9th and 10th grade girls race in 12:50; freshman Ethan Voss took first in the 9th and 10th grade boys race in 11:13; senior Alexis Dzikowich won the 11th and 12th grade girls race in 13:15; and senior Adrian Kaiser finished first in the 11th and 12th grade boys race in 10:40 for Marshfield.

“It was a dream come true to actually have a competitive meet on our alumni/intersquad course,” Marshfield coach Dan Akin said. “Braem Park is a very intimate place to compete and we have used this resource for the past 20 years. I am pleased that Rapids got a first-hand look at this course and they liked it.

“It was a nice break for all the kids to only run two miles instead of our usual 4K and 5K races. We saw some good things as we head into the later part of our season.”

Marshfield is back in action next Thursday at the Chippewa Falls Invitational.
