GILMAN – Spencer played without its top hitter on the front row but it didn’t matter much as the Rockets blasted Gilman 3-0 on Tuesday to stay perfect in Cloverbelt Conference East Division volleyball this season.

Spencer won 25-11, 25-13, 25-14, to improve to 6-0 in the Cloverbelt East and 25-3 overall. Gilman drops to 0-5.

Paige Johnson had 10 kills and two blocks, Macie Weber had eight kills and three blocks, and Marisa Johnson chipped in six kills for the Rockets.

Alicia Endreas led Spencer with six aces and 10 digs, Brooke Kettleborough had 33 assists and Lindsey Vaughan added six digs for Spencer.

“We played without Tara Matter (sickness) tonight – that made everyone step up,” Spencer coach Buff Heller said. “We played a lot of younger players tonight and they did an awesome job. Paige Johnson and Macie Weber controlled the net all night.”

Spencer hosts Loyal/Granton on Thursday.
