Assumption uses quick start to down Stratford girls basketball

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids Assumption jumped out to an 11-3 lead and led the rest of the way, beating Stratford 52-33 in a Marawood Conference South Division girls basketball game last Friday.

Assumption pushed the lead to 28-16 by halftime.

Hannah Skuba scored 11 points and three Royals had eight points in the win.

Assumption improves to 7-0 and 4-0 in the Marawood South, while Stratford drops to 3-3 and 1-3 in the conference.

Brooke Schultze had 15 points, making 7 of 10 free throws, for Stratford.

Stratford plays at Elcho on Monday and at Auburndale on Thursday.
