Marshfield baseball grabs first WVC win of season with win at Merrill

MERRILL – Bo Howard tossed a complete-game three-hitter to lead the Marshfield baseball team to its first Wisconsin Valley Conference win of the season, a 5-2 win over Merrill on Wednesday at Merrill.

Howard struck out five and scattered nine walks and three hits to earn the victory.

Aaron Schwecke was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Jeron Hiller had two hits and an RBI and Caleb Alexander also had two hits for the Tigers (3-5, 1-2 Wisconsin Valley Conference).

Marshfield was scheduled to play a doubleheader at home against Wausau East on Thursday, but it was postponed due to rain until May 8.
