Marshfield Chaparrals rout Plover Pterodactyls

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Chaparrals improved to 7-2 on the season with a 9-1 win over the Plover Pterodactyls in amateur baseball action Wednesday at Jack Hackman Field.

Ryan Williams struck out seven over five innings to earn the win.

Marshfield smacked out 10 hits, two each from Austin Littmann, Bobby Gregorich, Lucius Messerschmidt and Jordan Litwatis. Messerschmidt drove in two runs, with the other three tallying one RBI apiece.

The Chaparrals scored three times in the first and five runs in the third to blow the game open early. Plover had seven errors, resulting in only three of the nine runs being earned.

Marshfield hosts Spooner for a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. at Hackman Field.
