OSHKOSH – Three Valley Football Association South Division games played for Marshfield this season, three lopsided victories for the Tigers.

Luke Zuiker threw three touchdown passes, two to Jeffrey Allison in the second half, leading the Tigers to a 42-20 win over Oshkosh West on Friday at Titan Stadium.

Marshfield has won its three conference games so far this season by a combined score of 131-42, scoring more than 40 points in each victory.

Marshfield led 14-6 at halftime despite a turnover and two missed scoring opportunities on West’s side of the field.

West closed to within two points when it scored a touchdown on the opening possession of the third quarter after a 23-yard pass from Sam Olejnik to Conner Arneson. The Wildcats missed a potential game-tying two-point conversion, and from there the Tigers’ offense went nuts.

Allison hauled in TD passes of 45 and 27 yards from Zuiker, and Caleb Alexander had touchdown runs of 11 and 43 yards to push the Tigers’ lead to 42-20.

Keiron Howlett (102 yards) and Alexander (126) each had more than 100 yards rushing, and Allison (118) topped the 100-yard receiving mark for Marshfield, which racked up 465 yards of offense.

Zuiker finished 9 of 10 passing for 161 yards and three scores, while Colton Zahradka was 5 of 8 for 79 yards as the Tigers’ quarterback shuffle continues to provide positive results.

Howlett started the scoring with an 11-yard touchdown run with 7:39 left in the first quarter.

Kegan Fasler caught an 18-yard TD pass from Zuiker to put Marshfield up 14-0 with 8:01 to go before halftime.

West got back in the game when Olejnik threw the first of his three touchdown passes just 1:31 later. Marshfield blocked the extra point kick and went into halftime up 14-6.

West reached the 2-yard line late in the second half before the Tigers turned the Wildcats away on downs.

After West pulled within two points with a 13-play, 80-yard drive to start the third quarter, Marshfield outscored the Wildcats 28-8, scoring four touchdowns in 12½ minutes.

Zach Meissner had two interceptions defensively for Marshfield.

Marshfield improves to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Valley Football Association South, while West drops to 2-3 and 1-2 in conference play.

The Tigers host Wisconsin Rapids at 7 p.m. next Friday, Sept. 27, at Beell Stadium.
