ATHENS – Marathon swept the top five spots to grab the boys team title at the 2013 Athens Cross Country Invitational on Thursday.
Andrew Studinski won the race in 16:44.7 and Marathon took the next four spots to easily win the team title with a perfect score of 15.
Stratford was third with 107 points, just a point behind Prentice/Rib Lake, and Auburndale took seventh.
Phil Sersch was ninth in the boys race with a time of 18:27.8, Mark Wenzel finished 11th (18:42.7) and John Geissinger took 14th (19:02.3) for Stratford
Auburndale’s top finishers were Jake Hunsberger (20th in 19:38.5) and Tom Sabel (23rd in 19:48.1).
Phillips won the girls team title with three of the top six finishers. Three Lakes’ Natalie Miller was the individual champ, winning in 15:53.8, 37 seconds ahead of Ellie Lochner of Phillips.
Stratford took fifth and Auburndale was seventh, but both had top-10 finishes.
Auburndale’s Abby Bauer was fifth in 16:53.9 and Stratford’s Nadia King was 10th in 17:26.7.
