Spencer boys basketball whips Augusta in season opener

AUGUSTA – Jeremiah Cattanach poured in 20 points to lead the Spencer boys basketball team to a 51-38 win over Augusta in the Rockets’ season and Cloverbelt Conference East Division opener Thursday at Augusta High School.

Mitchell Susa hit three 3-pointers and finished with 16 points and nine rebounds for the Rockets.

Spencer pushed its lead to double-digits by halftime, leading 27-17 at the break, and went up 43-25 after three quarters.

Jordan Cerrillo had nine points to top Augusta (0-2, 0-1 Cloverbelt East).

Spencer hosts Greenwood on Tuesday.
