UW-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team wins third straight

MANITOWOC – McKenzie Trunkel made 11 of 12 free throws and scored a game-high 19 points to help lift the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team to a 71-48 win at UW-Manitowoc on Monday night.

The Marauders improve to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference with their third win in a row.

Taylor Lynn and Corrine Meacham each had 16 points, and Mikayla Jankowski added seven points and 12 rebounds for UW-Marshfield.

Manitowoc shot just 25 percent (16 of 63) and committed 17 turnovers. Marshfield also held a 50-41 rebounding advantage and only had eight turnovers.

UW-Marshfield hosts UW-Rock County on Saturday at 1 p.m.
