Nekoosa slips past Auburndale girls basketball

NEKOOSA – Shannon Yahnke scored a team-high 17 points but the Auburndale girls basketball team came up a bucket short, losing at Nekoosa 49-47 in a nonconference game Monday night.

Auburndale led 15-9 after the first quarter but Nekoosa was able to chip away and held off the Apaches.

Nekoosa improves to 6-6, while Auburndale falls to 4-7 this season.

Desirae Schuh had 18 points to top the Papermakers.

Auburndale hosts Edgar on Thursday.
