Stratford boys basketball tops Pittsville, snaps four-game losing streak

STRATFORD – A.J. Strasser scored a season-high 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help the Stratford boys basketball team to a 52-43 win over Pittsville in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday night at Stratford High School.

Strasser was 9 of 15 from the field and added a team-high four assists for Stratford, which improves to 3-7 overall and 3-3 in the Marawood South. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Tigers.

Pittsville is now 5-9 and 2-5 in the conference.

Stratford outscored the Panthers 19-13 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.

Matthew Carlson had 13 points and eight rebounds to lead Pittsville.

Stratford plays at Marathon on Friday.
