Stratford girls basketball crushes Chequamegon in Marawood crossover

STRATFORD – Stratford made six 3-pointers and eight different Tigers scored in a 50-17 rout of Chequamegon in the fifth-place game of the Marawood Conference North-South crossovers on Thursday night at Stratford High School.

Macie Frueh hit three 3-pointers and had a team-high 13 points for Stratford. Casey Kolbeck added nine points and Tianna Hughes had eight for the Tigers.

Stratford finishes its regular season with an 11-11 record, while Chequamegon falls to 3-18.

Stratford led 30-9 at halftime and pushed the lead to 35 points with a 16-2 run in the third quarter.

The Tigers host Spencer in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal on Tuesday.
