Marshfield High School girls soccer player Darian Molter has been voted as the WDLB-WOSQ Radio/MarshfieldAreaSports.com April High School Athlete of the Month.
The High School Athlete of the Month Award is sponsored by Marshfield Clinic and Burt Trophy & Awards. Molter will be presented an award from Burt Trophy & Awards later this month.
Molter, a senior, was nominated for the award after scoring 13 goals and dishing out two assists in six games for the Tigers in April. Molter scored four goals in a 6-0 win over Wausau East on April 10, and had three goals in an overtime win over Tomah and three in a tie with Chippewa Falls.
Molter, who will play collegiate soccer at Winona State University in Minnesota next year, garnered just more than half of the 1,150 votes cast during voting from May 1-7.
Other nominees for the April award were Spencer baseball player Alex Brostowitz, Marshfield girls track athlete Martha Kupfer and Auburndale girls track athlete Sylviann Momont.
Molter joins past winners of the award during the 2013-14 school year that include Spencer volleyball player Marisa Johnson (September), the Marshfield boys soccer team (October), Spencer boys basketball player Jeremiah Cattanach (November), Neillsville girls basketball player Jenny Lindner (December), Stratford wrestler Dondrick Tackes (January), Athens girls basketball player Kyncaide Diedrich (February), and Marshfield boys track athlete Brad Krueger (March).

Voting for the May award will take place at MarshfieldAreaSports.com from June 1-7.
The WDLB-WOSQ Radio & MarshfieldAreaSports.com High School Athlete of the Year for the 2013-14 school year will be announced in late June.
