Marshfield junior Julia Urban earned first-team honors and sophomore Emily Critelli was named to the second team of the 2015 All-Wisconsin Valley Conference Girls Soccer Team, as voted on by the conference coaches.
Urban, a forward, scored three goals and four assists for Marshfield, which finished 4-8 and in fifth place in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.
“Her main role was distributing and controlling the center of the field,” Marshfield coach Steve Lindner said. “She was outstanding and played at a high level all year.”
Critelli, a defender, and junior defender Patty Bloczynski – the Tigers’ lone honorable mention selection – played big roles for the Marshfield defense that allowed 2.6 goals per game in conference play.
“Emily was very fast and reliable, and thwarted many attacks as she slid into the deep sweep position fulltime in her second year,” Lindner said. “Emily was our last line of defense.
“Patty is a very strong defender and was rarely beat 1-on-1. She covers very well and has taken her game to a new level this year.”
D.C. Everest’s Gabi Kitchell was named WVC Player of the Year, while Wausau West’s Brady Mesenberg was tabbed as Coach of the Year.
