Marshfield Clinic Post 54 Senior Legion routs Wausau

MARSHFIELD – Sam Neville tossed a five-hit shutout as the Marshfield Clinic Post 54 Senior American Legion baseball team rolled to a 10-0 win over Wausau on Tuesday night at Jack Hackman Field.

The Blue Devils (14-3 overall) scored once in the first inning and put the game away with a six-run third. Marshfield finished off the game via the 10-run rule with three runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Neville struck out one and had no walks to earn the win.

Marshfield had 12 hits, all singles, in the victory. Nolan Matson went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Bobby Pilz was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Blue Devils.

Marshfield’s next game is Wednesday at Wisconsin Rapids. The game, at Witter Field, will start at 7 p.m. The Blue Devils host D.C. Everest at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hackman Field.
