Marshfield girls golf fourth at opening Clover Valley meet

CADOTT – The Marshfield girls golf team opened Clover Valley Golf League play Wednesday by placing fourth at the first of seven league meets to be held this season.

The Tigers finished with a team score of 219, 14 shots in back of third-place Eau Claire Regis (205). Host Stanley-Boyd won the team title with a score of 196, with Stevens Point second with a 200 at Whispering Pines Golf Course.

Anna Jensen led Marshfield with a 46 to place sixth overall. Jordyn Fitzgerald was 10th with a 50, Patty Bloczynski was 12th with a 52, and Roma Shah added a 71 for the Tigers.

Savanna Anderson of Stanley-Boyd had a 40 to win medalist honors and finished four shots ahead of Cierra Botcher of Wisconsin Rapids, Megan Pokrandt of Eau Claire Regis, and Katie Kiraly of Stanley-Boyd, who all tied for second with 44s.

Marshfield plays at the Chippewa Falls Invitational on Thursday.
