Pittsville shuts down Auburndale baseball

PITTSVILLE – Pittsville scored seven runs in the first inning and never looked back, dealing the Auburndale baseball team its ninth-straight loss, a 14-0 setback in Marawood Conference South Division action Monday.

Kyle Krohn and Ryan Schwanebeck combined for a five-inning one-hitter, striking out seven and walking two.

Auburndale was victimized by 11 walks by pitchers Rhys Wahleithner and Troy Kollross, and three errors. Pittsville managed 14 runs on just six hits.

Wahlteithner had the Apaches’ lone hit, a double.

Auburndale is back in action Friday at home against Stratford.
