Marshfield Columbus Catholic had three first-team and three second-team selections to the 2015 All-Mid-State Soccer Conference Team, as voted on by the conference coaches.

Senior Farid Torbey and junior Tyler Fuerlinger were unanimous first-team selections, and were joined on the 12-man first team by teammate Calvin Brown, a sophomore.

“On top of being a relentless defender, Farid started scoring this season,” Columbus Catholic coach Jeff Edwards said. “This year he was mostly unstoppable. I couldn’t be prouder of the transformation from his freshman to his senior year. Farid is a shining example that hard work really does pay off.

“Tyler played one of our stopper positions. He developed into a goal scorer and was a great target on corner kicks, scoring a number of times,” Edwards added. “Calvin was always around the ball and in a supportive position to receive it, then distribute. His progress in two years has been outstanding.”

Juniors Tim Gruenloh and Charles Payant, and sophomore Nick Malovhr were second-team picks for the Dons, with junior goalkeeper Bailey Keffer earning honorable mention status.

Edwards was named Co-Coach of the Year, along with McDonell/Regis’ Tim Jenneman. McDonell/Regis (10-0-2) edged the Dons (9-0-3) by one point to win the conference title.

Adam Erickson of McDonell/Regis was named Player of the Year.
