UW-Waukesha sweeps UW-Marshfield/Wood County basketball teams

MARSHFIELD – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County basketball teams were swept by UW-Waukesha on Saturday afternoon at the Marauder Gym.

The Marauders women lost 85-68 and the men’s team was defeated 105-78.

Statistics from the men’s game were not provided. UW-Marshfield is now 0-3, while UW-Waukesha improves to 5-0. The game was a nonconference contest.

The women’s game was a Wisconsin Collegiate Conference matchup. UW-Waukesha is now 3-0 overall and in the conference, while Marshfield drops to 2-1 overall and in WCC play.

Carrie Stroetz scored a season-high 29 points for the Marauders, making 12 of 20 shots from the field. She added seven rebounds.

Allie Paitel chipped in 16 points and 14 rebounds, and Hayley Bunnell had 15 points and seven rebounds for UW-Marshfield.

The Marauders men are back in action Wednesday at UW-Baraboo, while the women play at UW-Fox Valley in Menasha on Thursday.
