Stratford girls basketball moves to 3-0 with win over Colby

STRATFORD – Savannah Schillinger scored 11 of her team-high 16 points in the second half to help the Stratford girls basketball team to a 55-47 nonconference victory over Colby on Tuesday night at Stratford High School.

The Tiger led 25-23 at halftime after Andie Zuelke and Kaylee Hollatz each scored five points in the opening 18 minutes.

Stratford (3-0) pulled away in the second half, making 10 of 13 free throws. Sammy Griesbach scored eight of her 12 points in the second half, making all four free-throw attempts.

Samantha Hayes had 18 points to lead the Hornets (1-2).

Stratford opens its Marawood Conference South Division schedule at Northland Lutheran on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
