Spencer boys basketball storm back to beat Pittsville

SPENCER – The Spencer boys basketball team won its third-straight game as it topped Pittsville 58-45 in a nonconference game Saturday afternoon at Spencer High School.

Pittsville led 27-15 at halftime before Spencer turned it up in the second half, outscoring the Panthers 43-18.

Jack Bezlyk scored 15 points, and Bobby Pilz and Ryan Busse each added 14 for the Rockets (9-4).

The Rockets made 8 of 20 3-pointers, three by Busse and two each from Pilz and Calvin Lenz.

Paul Downs had 17 points and Jacob Allind had 16 for Pittsville (9-6).

Spencer hosts Abbotsford for a nonconference game on Monday.
