Stratford boys basketball knocks off Northland Lutheran

KRONENWETTER – Brenden Fecker scored 16 points to help lift the Stratford boys basketball team to a 61-44 victory over Northland Lutheran in the Marawood Conference South Division finale on Thursday night at Northland Lutheran High School.

Stratford rolled out to a 37-24 lead by halftime and held on from there to improve to 11-9 overall and finish the Marawood South season with a 6-6 record.

Derrick Schmidt added 14 points and five rebounds for the Tigers.

Stratford shot an efficient 58 percent (21 of 36), including 16 of 22 from 2-point range. The Tigers also made 14 free throws.

Stratford will play at Athens in a nonconference game on Tuesday.
