Spencer falls to Crivitz in WIAA Division 4 boys basketball regional semifinal

CRIVITZ – The Spencer boys basketball team ended in the WIAA Division 4 regional semifinals after dropping a 74-50 decision to Crivitz on Friday night at Crivitz High School.

The Rockets finish the season with a 15-9 record.

Crivitz (19-4) will play a regional final at No. 1 seed Edgar (20-3) on Saturday night. The winner advances to a sectional semifinal Thursday at D.C. Everest against either Marathon (20-3) of Oconto (19-4).

Spencer trailed by seven points at halftime and Crivitz was able to expand on that in the second half.

Bobby Pilz finished his stellar career at Spencer by scoring 22 points. He finishes the season with a school-record 529 points and his four-year career with 1,311, which is second on the all-time scoring list at Spencer.
