Big inning lifts Marathon past Auburndale baseball

MARATHON – Marathon scored 10 times in the second inning and went on to defeat Auburndale 14-2 in a Marawood Conference South Division baseball game Tuesday at Marathon High School.

Auburndale was held to four hits and scored twice, both coming in the third inning after it was already trailing 13-0.

Ryan Isaacson had an RBI single to score Logan Willfahrt and Coy Krings also scored for the Apaches, who fall to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference. Marathon is now 6-1 and 3-0 in the conference.

Auburndale hosts Northland Lutheran on Thursday.
