PARK FALLS – Stratford’s win on Friday against Chequamegon, combined with a loss from Rib Lake/Prentice to Marathon, has catapulted the Tigers into first place in the Marawood Conference football standings.
The Tigers routed Chequamegon 60-6 on Friday night, improving to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in the Marawood. Chequamegon is now 1-4 and 0-4 in the conference.
Stratford scored five touchdowns in the first quarter and led 46-0 by halftime in the rout.
Kam Bornbach ran for 94 yards on just seven carries and scored three times from 18, 10, and 17 yards away for Stratford.
Cole Hoffmann also added a pair of touchdown runs in the win for the Tigers.
The Tigers’ defense dominated, limiting Chequamegon to just four first downs and 28 total yards, and forced four turnovers.
Stratford hosts Rib Lake/Prentice (4-1 overall and Marawood), which is tied with Edgar for second place in the conference, next Friday at 7 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
