Stratford softball moves on

STRATFORD – Hilary Belter tossed a one-hitter and Sam Frombach was 3-for-3 with two runs scored to lead the Stratford softball team to a 10-0 win over Marawood Conference rival Edgar in a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal Tuesday.

Stratford scored twice in the first inning and added five more in the second to surge ahead. Belter took care of the rest.

Belter struck out two and walked three in the five-inning complete-game effort to lift Stratford (21-2) into Thursday’s regional final at home against Cloverbelt Conference East Division champion Neillsville (19-1).

Seven different Tigers had RBIs, led by Keri Doll and Aleena Cook with two each.

Rachel Ludwig was 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs scored. Sara Griesbach scored three times and Doll scored twice for Stratford.
