Columbus Catholic girls basketball drops home game to Owen-Withee

MARSHFIELD – Owen-Withee raced out to a double-digit lead by halftime and held on from there, beating Marshfield Columbus Catholic 58-45 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Thursday at Columbus Catholic High School.

Owen-Withee led 32-18 at halftime and the Dons could not catch up.

Columbus (9-7, 5-6 Cloverbelt East) shot just 28 percent from the field (18 of 64) and were only 3 of 23 from 3-point range in the loss.

Morgan Albrecht and Marissa Immerfall each had 11 points, and Kendra Baierl had 10 points and nine rebounds for Columbus Catholic.

Jennifer Wendler made 11 of 16 shots and finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds for Owen-Withee (11-4, 8-4 Cloverbelt East).

Columbus Catholic returns to action Tuesday at Gilman.
