Columbus Catholic boys basketball stays unbeaten, routs Gilman

GILMAN – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team, ranked No. 1 in this week’s WisSports.net Division 5 state boys poll, showed why on Friday night as it crushed Gilman 80-37 at Gilman High School.

Columbus (18-0, 13-0 Cloverbelt East) rushed out to a 40-12 lead by halftime and cruised from there.

Tyler Fuerlinger had his fourth 30-point game in the past three weeks, scoring 31 to lead the Dons. Hunter Schultz added 21 in the win.

Columbus hosts Greenwood on Tuesday, and with a win, would clinch at least a share of the Cloverbelt East title.
