MARSHFIELD – Wisconsin Rapids won seven of the 11 events and narrowly held off Marshfield 88-82 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference boys swimming dual meet opener Tuesday at Marshfield High School.
Marshfield won four events, including two by freshman Myles Jensen. Jensen took first in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:06.25 and the 500 freestyle in 5:46.55.
Jacob Dick won the 200 IM in 2:22.12, and Dick, Alec Brenner, Nathan Albanito and Jeffrey Berres teamed to win the 200 medley relay in 2:00.43 for Marshfield’s other two victories.
Nathan Albanito was second in the both the 50 freestyle (25.76) and 100 butterfly (1:11.66), Jeffrey Berres was second in the 100 freestyle (57.37), and Dick took second in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.01) for the Tigers.
Marshfield also placed second in the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays.
Marshfield’s next meet is Nov. 30 at home against Stevens Point.
