Marshfield boys hockey doubles up Tomah for first win

TOMAH – The Marshfield boys hockey team scored the game’s first three goals and held off Tomah to win 4-2 in a semifinal at the Tomah Tournament on Friday night at the Tomah Ice Center.

Isaac Wellens scored 2:29 into the first period, and Nate Boson and Justin Stanek added goals in the second period to put the Tigers (1-1) up 3-0.

After a pair of goals by Tomah, Marshfield put the game away with a goal from Seth Peterson early in the third period.

A.J. Trierweiler had 22 saves in goal for the Tigers.

Marshfield will play in the championship game of the tournament on Saturday afternoon.
