Spencer boys basketball drops road game at Owen-Withee

OWEN – Owen-Withee forced Spencer into 21 turnovers and held a rebounding advantage of 11 in a 69-44 victory in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Tuesday night at Owen-Withee High School.

Owen-Withee (9-5, 7-3 Cloverbelt East) ran out to a 30-18 lead by halftime and outscored the Rockets by 11 in the second half to pull away.

A.J. Ovyn scored a game-high 24 points, and Derek Hubbard had three 3-pointers and 13 points for the Blackhawks.

Nate Karau topped Spencer (6-9, 5-7 Cloverbelt East) with 16 points.

Spencer hosts Gilman on Friday.
