MEDFORD – Marshfield won all four events and Macey Smith took first in the all-around as the Tigers gymnastics team downed Medford 131.075-109.7 in a Great Northern Conference crossover dual meet Thursday night at Medford High School.

Emma Haugen won the vault, Melanie Hafenbredl took first in the uneven bars, Bailey Schmitt won the balance beam, and Brooke McGrath was first in the floor exercise as the Tigers swept the four events.

Smith took second in the vault, third in the bars and fourth in the floor as she won the all-around.

Haugen also placed second in the bars and Ally Bakke was second in the floor for Marshfield.

“The illnesses going around took a major toll on the team with several girls out ill or performing far less than their best,” Marshfield coach Allie Dryer said. “We also have a few girls rehabbing some injuries we held from competition to ensure they are ready for conference and sectionals. We did show our depth though contributing a very high team score for varsity with a variety of athletes contributing to the varsity lineup for the first time on an event.”

Marshfield will compete at Antigo on Tuesday.
