Spencer boys basketball tops Gilman

SPENCER – Jack Bezlyk scored 21 points to lead three players in double figures as the Spencer boys basketball team defeated Gilman 69-55 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday night at Spencer High School.

Nate Karau added 16 points, and Austin Bacon made seven of eight free throws and finished with 15 points for the Rockets, who are now 7-8 overall and 6-6 in the Cloverbelt East.

Spencer made 18 of 31 free throws in all and forced 22 turnovers in the victory.

Spencer plays a nonconference game at Stratford on Monday.
