STRATFORD – Taya Nett scored 19 points in the second half as the Stratford girls basketball team erupted to defeat Chequamegon 63-28 in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday night at Stratford High School.

After a sluggish first half that saw the score tied at 14-14, Stratford blasted the Screaming Eagles, outscoring them 49-14 in the second half.

Nett hit three 3-pointers and scored 19 of her game-high 21 points in the second-half run for the Tigers, who improve to 12-8 overall and 11-4 in the Marawood South.

Macie Schillinger and Brenna Ackley each added 10 points for Stratford, with all of Schillinger’s points coming in the second half.
