Spencer second at home volleyball invite

SPENCER – The Spencer volleyball team finished 3-1, losing only to champion Chippewa Falls McDonell, on Tuesday at the Spencer Invitational.

Courtney Schulz had a team-high 33 kills and Kylie Esser had 48 assists to lead the Spencer offense.

Dani Johnson led the Rockets in digs with 55, and Marcie Hebert added 10 blocks.

Spencer returns to action Saturday at the Marathon Tournament, and begins Cloverbelt Conference play with a home meet against Owen-Withee on Sept. 7.
